Southern Cross Support Services (SCSS) is a leading Child Safety provider throughout QLD. Children, Youth & Family Services (CYF) are seeking dedicated Disability Support Workers who are eager to transition into the youth sector and make a difference in the lives of young people.
This role offers a unique chance to apply your transferable skills in a new and exciting setting, supporting, and empowering young individuals to reach their full potential.

CYF programs operate 24/7 which includes shift work (sleepovers, weekends, and possibly awake shifts).

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate and person-centred support to young people with diverse needs and abilities.
- Foster a safe and nurturing environment contributing to growth and development.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create tailored support plans and interventions.
- Empower individuals to build essential life skills and promote independence.
- Use daily routines to provide hands on training for life skills such as cooking, personal care and budgeting.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience in disability support work or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to make a difference.
- Ability to adapt to the unique needs and challenges of young people.

Requirements prior to commencement:
- Blue Card for Working with Children (currently hold or be eligible to apply for)
- NDIS Worker Screening (currently hold or be eligible to apply for)
- Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check (LCS2)
- Hold or be willing to enrol into a Cert 4 or higher recognised qualification
- Driver’s licence (P2 minimum)
- Hope & Healing modules
- Smartphone with internet access
- CPR Certificate (willing to obtain)
