From the CEO's desk
Congratulations to Miranda Farrar on celebrating five years with SCSS early this month!
One of the greatest aspects of my role as CEO is the opportunity to recognise the achievements of those who have given so much to SCSS and contributed immensely to our progress over the years.
Miranda is one of these amazing staff members who I had the privilege of recongising on behalf of our Directors, Greg and Karen, and the organisation at our July 8 staff meeting in Bundaberg.
From Health and Safety Manager to specialising in Rehabilitation and Return to Work, Miranda is a great example of a staff member who takes pride in her work, always committing more than 100 per to her job, and contributing markedly to our Vision by improving safety, processes and culture across SCSS during her five years.
Interestingly, only approximately 20 per cent of all fulltime employees stay in their jobs between five and 10 years, according to ABS figures, so this five-year milestone puts Miranda in a very distinct category. When you consider we’ve been operating for nine years, it isn’t too difficult to see just how Miranda’s work has played such an important part in supporting our rapid growth and development.
Miranda is now one of approximately 30 staff who have been recognised for five-plus years of service and it gave me great pleasure to provide a gift of an iPad - an incentive that we established a few years ago to acknowledge the fact that dedicated and loyal staff mean everything to us. I am now looking forward to Miranda’s 10th year in 2025!
Cultural Awareness Committee Expressions of Interest now open
SCSS has a commitment to ensuring that all staff and people who access our services experience a sense of 'Purpose, Belonging and Security'. We provide an extensive range of support services to a diverse background of clientele and employ staff from a range of cultural backgrounds. We are actively working towards building our cultural safety and cultural capability within our organisation and we need your help to do this.
