Bluesummer Properties - The Network
As reported by Mikayla Hauptless The Newsmail April 26, 2021 - 1:05PM
The future of a former Bundaberg Aldi site is currently in the hands of the Bundaberg Regional Council, but if approved, new support services hub The Network could be open by mid-August.
A material change of use application has been lodged with the council for a Community Care Facility at 31 Bolewski St, Avoca, with Blue Plaza Pty Ltd listed as the owner and applicant for this development application.
Southern Cross Support Services (SCSS) CEO Cheryl Barrett said SCSS would be the lead tenant while Bluesummer Properties would be the property manager.
Ms Barrett said The Network would be a base for multiple businesses which would lease respective areas of the building.
The businesses to operate from The Network include SCSS, Access Support Coordination, All Plan Management, Our Plan Manager, Bluesummer Properties, Southern Cross Family Day Care and Children, Youth and Family Services.
Ms Barrett said it would be great to have all of these businesses under one roof.
She said SCSS had been growing each year with the search for a new office space underway before COVID hit.
And since finding the Bolewski St address there’s high hopes for the future of The Network.
Ms Barrett said it was a great building in an ideal location with plenty of parking spaces.

The Network will also have an accessible client drop in space (CRIB) with a theatre, gaming room and commercial kitchen.
If the development is approved, she’s hoping to open The Network in mid-August to align with SCSS’ 10 year anniversary celebrations.
The site was previously used by Aldi, before the new Avoca centre and moved last year.
The application is currently awaiting a decision from the Bundaberg Regional Council.
