Clients were involved in coming up with a name for the place that they enjoy coming to and this set the name in motion.
“The Crib” is a fantastic universal space that has a fully functional kitchen for cooking, making drinks, learning skills and is a safe and welcoming environment for everyone to interact, socialise and take part in activities. This success soon led to the opening of a second "The Crib" in the SCSS Hervey Bay office – complete with gaming and sensory areas.
History of The Crib
The Crib in Bundaberg was officially opened in November 2018 by local member David Batt MP and a welcome ceremony saw members of the community join together for an afternoon tea and celebration of the new space.
Clients and staff worked together to cook and decorate for the event with a host of good laughs and fun.
Since opening the Crib spaces, SCSS has come together to celebrate with functions for Melbourne Cup Day celebrations, hosted Christmas Dinner for Clients and Staff, used the functions to provide training and devloping life skills, have hosted a number of charity fundraising events and they have become a central point of fun and good times for everyone.
